Peanut Butter and Jam
I don't think I've eaten Peanut Butter and Jam sandwiches since then. I carried the damned things all the way across the Ridgeway and they got a bit repetitive.

I should add that those peanut butter and jam sandwiches kept us alive - if Scott had had them in 1912 then he would surely have made it back to England. Food of heroes!

Unfortunately I have had to disable comments temporarily as I am getting too much comment spam. By all means drop me an email (hello at rickhuby dot com) if you want to get in touch about anything. Hopefully I'll magically discover oodles of time laying around and get this sorted quickly.

This photo was taken on the way back, after we realised we weren't going to make it. We must been going 10 or 12 hours, and the hardest thing was knowing how many hours of riding we still had ahead of us, and that it was going to be dark well before we finished. Oh, and it was the hottest day of the year and all those sandwiches and Lucozade weighed a LOT. Happy days!
